Airborne Laserscanning > Installation in Aircraft
The TopoSys LIDAR systems are normally installed in aircrafts which have already been adapted for aerial photography cameras.
Before initial installation, an adapter plate is produced which is necessary for the installation of the sensor rack over the camera hole. Fixing the computer rack to seat rails or similar fixtures is unproblematic.

If there is no observation hole in the fuselage of an aircraft, greater expense and individual solutions are to be expected.

Reinstallation of the LIDAR system in a suitably prepared aircraft is completed in a few minutes.

The TopoSys systems have two electrical interfaces to the aircraft:
  • Connection to the airborne supply system with supply voltage of 28 VDC
  • Connection to an L1/L2 GPS aerial antenna

There is no connection to the avionics of the aircraft.
