| | The main screen of the Falcon operator console displayed during the flight is clearly subdivided into various areas, a major portion being taken up by the real-time display of the measurement data. Here both color-coded elevation data of the laserscanner and image data of the RGB/NIR line scanner can be displayed. The history of the exposure time of the line scanner and the measuring distance to the ground is plotted in diagrams. Further, the screen includes bar displays for the hard disk capacities, information on the quality of the navigation and GPS data, symbolized by traffic signals, as well as plain-text displays relating to the main system states.
The operator’s tasks during the flight are essentially limited to starting and stopping the data recording while flying over the territory to be surveyed, to checking the flight altitude above ground and the exposure time of the line scanner, as well as to monitoring the other displays, such as the residual capacity of the data media.
