  After every survey flight, the recorded data are stored on a secure magnetic tape. For this TopoSys uses DAT (DDS4), which has proven to be very reliable over many years. A second copy is normally created as a back-up, which further increases data security. After checking the copies once more, the removable media storage devices are deleted for re-use and the tapes are archived.
Regular checking of the removable media storage devices reduces additional error sources.
  Especially for the task of data back-up, TopoSys also offers a portable computer. This is a complete PC with an integrated flat-screen monitor and keyboard frame as well as plug-in compartments for all removable media storage devices.
Other areas of application of the computer include:
  • Flight planning and management
  • Coverage check
  • Editing and checking of all data carriers
  • Internet access, e.g. for weather forecast
